Fashion design is the art of applying aesthetics of designing and imagination in clothing and its accessories. Fashion designing has many arenas to play in and many careers to offer. Designers work on research and follow fashion trends which they apply in product development and eventually use that knowledge in trendsetting and successful fashion products. Garment designing, styling, fashion merchandising, buying and fashion photoshoots go hand in hand. In recent times social media and digital advertising also play a very big part in this industry.
The certificate course in fashion design at Explore Education focuses on detailed fashion illustrated designing for women. Factors like sketching, fabric rendering, and facial features for women are taught with practical assignments and classwork. Usage of multiple coloring mediums is one of the most important aspects of this course. The importance of color harmony and motif designing for pattern drawing are key elements for this curriculum.
Students would focus on creating a personalized portfolio based on their skills of collection development taught in this period.
LEARNING OUTCOME:
- Students would learn the art of fashion illustration for women along with sketching mechanical figures, fleshed figures, and poses.
- Students would learn fashion draping on paper based on concept and stabilization.
- Multiple projects and practical assignments will be made to combine into a creative designer portfolio
- Students would also learn how to make motifs and patterns for designing prints along with women’s facial expressions and hairstyles.
- Collection making with concepts would be applied in all projects.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT:
- Anyone who is above 12 years can apply for this course based on their creative interest.
- Students must have a comprehensive command of spoken and written English for application in both a professional and commercial environment.

Informal assessment through discussion, group activities and final presentations as guided by the tutor.

Students who successfully complete the program will be awarded a Certificate in Fashion Design – issued by EEI. The course is approved by KHDA and can be attested by the authority.
